Plasterwork Conservation

Cliveden are recognised leaders in the restoration and conservation of plasterwork in historic and listed buildings. We liaise with architects and conservation officers, and at times our knowledge is called upon to design and reinstate decorative plasterwork.

We have designed new ceilings and embellishments from salvaged fragments as well as providing full drawings and specifications for new works.

We reconstruct plasterwork in the most appropriate way by either using traditional techniques (lime, hair and split lath) or modern technology (moulds and fibrous plaster) or a combination of both.

Working in Historic Houses and Public Buildings, we are experienced in the sensitive remodelling of interiors to integrate modern technology, such as amplification and fire detection equipment.
